Midnight on August 14/15, 1947, marks the independence of India from the British Raj, but along with independence came the Partition in which two new nations, India and Pakistan, were carved out of British India. The Parition led to the greatest movement of people in human history. Over 14 million people were displaced from their homes and two million died. The effects of the partition are still felt and live on in people's memories.
Join us as we explore the 1947 Partition via storytelling by witnesses sharing their stories, with Guneeta Singh Bhalla, founder of 1947 Partition Archive.
