SIMEEN FARHAT

Simeen Farhat was born in Karachi, Pakistan. She has shown extensively and internationally in Austria, France, Finland, Germany, India, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey, UAE, UK, and the USA. Farhat has also been invited to participate at the Collateral event exhibition at the 56th Venice Biennale, 2017, Contemporary Calligraphy Biennale at the Sharjah Museum of Contemporary Art and TX Biennale, 2009.

Major Museums shows include Asia Society Museum, Houston, TX, Ithra Museum, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Arlington Museum of Art, Sharjah Museum, and The National Art Gallery, Islamabad. Farhat has been mentioned and written about in major publications such as: NY Times, Elephant Magazine, Selection Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Contemporary Practices, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and ArtNow.

Simeen Farhat received her MFA from TCU, Ft. Worth in 2000 and her BFA from ASU, Tempe, AZ in 1998.

Simeen showed work in a group exhibition, Text Embodied: Transformation of Text into an Experience of Art in May 2013.
